K&S Enterprises
K&S Enterprises started in 2006 by launching www.rightfundraiser.com. Mitchell Johnson one of the owners has been in the coffee sales, brokering, roasting service industry for 24 years.
He has worked for several different large roasters around the country representing their coffees. During this time while
he was learning what makes a good cup of coffee, he took in all the comments from his customers big and small to find out
really what folks like. He learned that there are really only three different requirements that the average coffee drinker
likes. 1) Smooth 2) Bold 3) Not bitter. He has worked with several different micro-roasters roasting, blending, cupping different
coffees until he reached the level that meets the three requirements listed before.
While working on the different
blends and selling coffees in the Texas markets he had an idea for a Fundraiser for his daughters fast-pitch travel softball
team. So he threw an idea out to the team members; why not use coffee to raise the funds they needed to go to Nationals in
Florida. I was a huge hit. They ran the fundraiser in the Spring first then in the Fall of the same year. It was very surprising
how successful this was. So they ran it again the following Spring, again it was a success, growing more than 30% each time
they ran the program. They went back to get repeat sales from people that bought the coffee before and added some new customers.
With being so wrapped up in the softball world for 16 years he started offering the program to other local teams.
They were very successful also.
Mitchell decided to open a business K&S Enterprises for his daughters Kristin
and Stephanie both being avid softball players since they were 4 years of age. He thought this would be a great education
in the business world for them. While Kristin is a college student and Stephanie is in high school and with Mitchell being
in the coffee already he could watch over and develop this business for them. They both have active roles in the business
by designing, promoting, advertising, and web site construction. After all the bills have been paid the small profit
that we make we share with different non-profit organizations. The left over’s go to fund Kristin's college and
Stephanie's softball travel.
Now the business has really grown over the last 3 years, they now service
Schools, Churches, Scouts, Sports Teams, Child Care, Cheer-leading, PTO, PTA, Booster Clubs, and all other type of non-profit
organizations. They really try and customize a program that will be a win win for the group as well as us.
The
key to success is customer service in the consumer goods industry. They have great relationships with their suppliers
and always looking for new ideas, blends, roast, etc.
They want every customer to send feedback on the program,
service, communication, and the products that they represent. They try and follow the motto “The customer is always
right" day to day. K&S Enterprises always stands behind their products replacing or refunding at
the customer’s request.
Referrals have been a big part of their business and it seems to grow day by day.
